Sales FAQs

Q. What is the difference between the subscription and single payment?
A. In terms of the software there is no difference. The license entitles you to all upgrades within a year of purchase. You can renew your purchase at any time, or select to have a subscription to ensure uninterrupted access to upgrades. A benefit of an annual subscription is that the renewal price will be discounted by 20% in subsequent years while you remain subscribed.

Q. What happens after a year if I select "Single payment"?
A. Editor will continue to work as before, the software won't be effected. The license is perpetual for the versions that are released within a year of your purchase date. But if you wish to upgrade after that period, you would need to purchase an upgrade license.

Q. How can I upgrade my v1 license?
A. Login with your account that was used to purchase Editor previously and the pricing options shown above will automatically update to show upgrade options and pricing.

Q. How many web-sites / applications can I use Editor on?
A. Editor licenses are per seat (i.e. per developer) rather than being limited to an individual web-site. A developer can use Editor on as many web-sites or web-applications as you wish.

Q. How do you define a developer?
A. A developer is a person who is working directly or indirectly on software that integrates Editor. This includes both front-end developers and designers, as well as server-side developers who work on integrating the form and database controls with the Editor interface. Developers working on completely different modules of your application are not included.

Q. What currency is the payment made in?
A. Payments can be made in USD ($), Euros (€) or GBP (£). Select the currency you wish to use from the options at the top of the page. The transaction will be completed in the selected currency and the paid invoice will reflect that.

Q. Are there support and maintenance options?
A. Yes, support and maintenance contracts are available which cover DataTables, Editor and the other extensions available on this site. Please see the support options for details.

Q. What types of payment do you accept?
A. All major debit and credit cards are accepted, as well as single payments through PayPal. Subscriptions cannot currently be paid by PayPal. For 10 or more developer packages we can accept payments by bank transfer, cheque or Purchase Order. For information on these options, please get in touch.

Q. What happens after purchase?
A. You will be able to download the fully licensed Editor software from the download page. Only two files need to be updated from the trial, so if you have been using the trial to start your development you'll be able to continue with that work immediately. Additionally you'll receive an e-mail with the invoice for your purchase.

Q. What happens at the end of my trial?
A. At the end of the 15 day trial period, the Editor scripts will no longer operate without a valid license. No data will be lost, and the purchased package can be used with any code you have developed during the trial.

Q. Can I resell Editor?
A. If you are planning on distributing a product where other developers can also work with the code base, an OEM license is required for Editor. For full details, please get in touch. If you are developing an application that uses Editor as part of a contract job for a single application or site that will not be redistributed, an OEM license is not required.

Q. Can I purchase more licenses later? A. Yes absolutely. Additional licenses can be purchase at any time and will automatically be added to your account.
